Development of Smart Sensors for Health Monitoring in Urban Air Quality

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

On this week , i have focused on doing the conclusions and recommendations. This chapter is based on my final findings on my prototype and future improvise that can be doing on my prototype.

ACTIVITY
1) CONCLUSION
In this chapter, i have summarise my overall prototype based on the functionality and the quality of product. The conclusion is include Chapter 1: Introduction , Chapter 2: Literature Review , Chapter 3 : Methodology , Chapter 4: Result and Discussion

2) RECOMMENDATIONS
In this chapter , i have write all the recommendations that has been suggested by the internal and external assessors in my FYP2 Exhibition Day presentation. The suggestions is to improvise and innovate my project to make it more nice and quality.

SUMMARY
My supervisor has satisfied with the work that i have do in the conclusion and recommendations. He also has corrected my minor error in the chapter.

RESULT AND DISCUSSION THESIS

After complete my presentation last week , it is time to focus on my thesis which is i am doing result and discussion. On this thesis , i have receive a lot of guidance from my supervisor.

ACTIVITY
1) RESULT
In this chapter, i have shown all the tables , mapping and tabulation data based on my output at my prototype. I also has explained the details of the results to make sure the reader can understand about the output. I am using table to show the difference between the reading and also i am doing the separate tables to indicate green , yellow and red level of reading data.

2) DISCUSSION
In this chapter, i have write the flow of my prototype based on my flow chart and block diagram at Chapter 3: Methodology. In this chapter also i have write about the trouble and problem that i have found and succeed to encounter it until i can do the troubleshooting on my prototype.

SUMMARY
My supervisor has check my result and discussion chapter, he is so satisfied with my work and he also has do some correction on my thesis.

FINAL YEAR PROJECT 2 EXHIBITION DAY

In this week , it is a day that i have been waiting for which is the exhibition day. Before the exhibition day,i have print out the poster presentation at Melawati. After that, i have show the poster to my supervisor and he is very satisfied with my work and editing skills.

ACTIVITY
1) FINAL YEAR PROJECT 2 EXHIBITION DAY

c) LOCATION : Gemilang Hall,UNIKL BMI











SUMMARY
I have succeed to do my presentation in front of two of assessor which is internal assessor, Dr. Imran and external assessor, Mr. Hairi. I can answer all the questions that has been asked from them and also i have write some good recommendations to improve my prototype.

POSTER PREPARATION AND MOCK PRESENTATION TO SUPERVISOR

On this week, I have do the poster of my prototype and do the mock presentation to my supervisor. The reason i prepare the poster earlier is to make sure my supervisor has satisfied with all my work before i present to the assessor next week. The mock interview is been done because to gain some confidence and also my supervisor can advice me if there is any mistake and can give some recommendations.

Summary
My supervisor has been satisfied with my poster and my presentation skills. He also give some tips & tricks before i do a presentation to the assessor. He also give me some advice and motivation to keep me calm and also a tips how to answer the assessor question in a proper way.

FYP 2 EXHIBITION DAY BRIEFING AND DO THE CASING

On this week, i have attend FYP2 Exhibition Day Briefing to know about tips & tricks on presentation day. I also do the casing for my hardware and transfer my components from breadboard to the donut board.

ACTIVITY 
1) FYP 2 EXHIBITION DAY BRIEFING
a) Date : 10/4/2019
b) Time : 3pm - 5pm
c) Location : TTL 2 
d) CO-ordinator : Dr. Mohd Noor and Dr. Marwangi

In this briefing, Dr. Mohd Noor has giving the tips & tricks regarding the presentation day that will be held on Week 11. He also give us some useful advice to be use when present to the assesssor. After that, Dr. Marwangi has explained about the Submission of Progress Report which is our thesis. Next, she has show us some example of good and excellent final report and technical paper. After all, all the students including me are well prepared by the explanation by the co-ordinator.

2) HARDWARE CASING
In this task , i have buy some components to make my project looks well which is i have used 3 LED, green, yellow and red to indicate the level of air quality. I also buy donut board to do the soldering of the component.



Below is the picture of my prototype after been soldering which include inside and outside of the box.

 

FINAL RESULT








SUMMARY 
I have succeed to attend the FYP 2 Exhibition Day briefing and do the hardware casing. My supervisor has satisfied with my work and i can proceed to do the poster presentation.

BLYNK APPS

On this week , i have doing the coding and testing on the Blynk Apps which is very hard to do and i learned it from the Youtube channel and learn it from the professional person. All the way in the week, i have learn about the apps and do the coding , and also display the result at the phone.

ACTIVITY
1) SETUP THE BLYNK APPS
 In the Blynk apps, i have to set every single thing that i want it to be display, for example, i have do a setup for  :-
a) LCD SETTINGS


b) MAP SETTINGS


c) DISPLAY SETTINGS


d) NOTIFICATIONS SETTINGS


As a result for my setup , i can get all the information that i want at the apps as picture below 


So as you can see at the figure below, my hardware and Blynk apps get a same result display which is i can be monitor the prototype through my phone.


SUMMARY
I have succeed to do the hardware and Blynk apps in a time given and after this i can continue to the casing of my prototype. My supervisor also satisfied with my work and ask me to touch up a litlle bit about my project.

BUY A NEW COMPONENT AND GET THE RESULT 

On this week , i have buy a new component to get my result run smoothly and to get the correct output according to my preferences.

ACTIVITY 
1) Buy Components
I have buy a 2 components which is LCD Display and new microcontroller which is NODEMCU ESP8266.

2) Test the coding and get a result.
In this task,i have succeed to get a new result which i have included all the components on the breadboard. The connection of RX and TX has not become a problem because on the new microcontroller it has so much of Receiver and Transmitter pins. 





SUMMARY
I have accomplish my hardware connection on the breadboard and the next week is to connect my project with the Blynk apps. I have shown my progress to my supervisor and he has suggested to me a various type of good recommendation to be upgraded on my prototype.

DO THE CODING AND RUN THE SENSOR

On this week , i have do the coding on my microcontroller which is on Arduino UNO. In this task , i have succeed to run a coding and display the result on the Serial Monitor. But, i have a problem with my ESP 8266 which cannot connect to my Arduino UNO due to the RX and TX does not enough pin on my microcontroller.

ACTIVITY :
1) Run the coding
I manage to connect my Arduino UNO with the MQ 135 sensor and GPS Module. I can display the result on the Serial Monitor without any problem.



2) Problem with ESP 8266 Wifi Module 
I have a problem with my ESP 8266 Wifi Module because it is cannot connect to the phone due to the GPS Module has using one RX and TX on it. It is because the Arduino UNO does not have two of RX and TX. Thankfully, i have the solution which is i can change the microcontroller to NODEMCU ESP8266.

SUMMARY
I have success to get the output result but due to certain problem occur on my Wifi Shield, i have to buy new microcontroller which is NODEMCU ESP8266.

WORKSHOP BRIEFING AND BUY COMPONENTS

On this week, i have attend the workshop briefing and also buy a components at the Jalan Pasar and Autobotic shops at Jalan Setapak. It was a busy week but i managed to encounter the busy in successful ways.

ACTIVITY :
1) Workshop Briefing 

     This workshop is held at :
     a) Location - TTL 2
     b) Date - 6/3/2019
     c) Time - 3pm - 5pm
     d) Co-ordinator - Dr.Marwangi and Dr. Imran\

In this workshop, Dr.Marwangi has teach us how to do the :-
 a) Results & Discussion (Chapter 4)\
 b) Conclusion (Chapter 5)
 c) Abstract in Thesis Writing

2) Buy Components

I have buy 3 components at Autobotic which is Arduino UNO , MQ 135 Sensor and GPS Module and 1 components which is ESP 8266 wifi module at Online Components which located at Jalan Pasar.


 SUMMARY:-
All this week task has been run smoothly and the basic component has been buy to do the coding. The workshop briefing also has been attend and get some input to the report later.

CONFIRMATION OF COMPONENT USED

On this week , i have discuss with my supervisor to confirm the component that want to be used on prototype. I also do some research of the components to be used

COMPONENT:
1) Arduino UNO : Used as the microcontroller to control all the input, system and output.

2) MQ 135 Sensor : This sensor is to detect the air quality level and give a reading.

3) GPS Module : This module is to give Latitude and Longitude to the user.

4) LCD Display 20x4 I2C: The function is to display all the output by using 20x4 display. The function of I2C is to reduce the pin used because the normal LCD is using 16 pins but LCD I2C is using 4 pins.

5) ESP 8266 Wifi Module - to connect the microcontroller to the phone

SUMMARY : 
My supervisor has agreed and satisfied with my component used so the next week is to buy the component at the electronics shop.
